Current demo reel
I’ve added my current demo reel to the site. It’s a showcase of work I did on Being Ian Season 4. I’ve also included some work I did during my time at Capilano College. Being Ian is copyright to Studio B Productions.

Shot List:
00:00 - 00:24
Being Ian, Season 4, Episode 55: Blah Blah Blog. I modeled, textured, and animated the scenes in Maya. The rendered layers were then taken into Flash where one of the awesome animators at Studio B handeled the character animation.
00:24 - 00:31
Being Ian, Season 4, Episode 54: Midnight Madness. I did the modeling and animation for the cars and trash cans in these scenes. The backgrounds were created in Photoshop by one of our layout artists which I used to match up the maya animation. The final animation was then rendered out using Maya Vector and imported into Flash as an swf file.

I wanted to design a creature that would fit with the slight fantasy feeling of my game level so I came up with this guy. Modeling and texturing were done in XSI. I took the medium resolution model into zBrush and also created a normal map to show added detail.
01:34 - 01:38
Being Ian, Season 4, Episode 61: That’s Ridonkulous. Modeling, texture, and animation.
01:38 - 01:49

June 2008
A new direction.
When I was taking 3D animation in college I had my portfolio website here; one that I built with Dreamweaver. The only problem is I never kept it up to date. It was a bit of pain cracking the software open, creating new buttons, and so on just to show a new piece of work. And if I decided I wanted to change the look? Forget about it…that’s just a major project in itself. Then this year I was talking with a former instructor of mine and he said most of the Capilano grads were using Blogger to show their work online. It seemed like a good idea so I swapped out the old site with WordPress. We’ll see how it goes but I’d like to be able to post work when I want with minimal fuss.
